Because our work is performed on your property and consists of labor, expertise, and (where applicable) disposal or chipping of materials, it is not "returnable" in the way a physical product would be. This policy sets out in detail how we handle cancellations by you or by us, deposits and payments, quality concerns, and any circumstances in which you may be entitled to a refund, credit, or other adjustment. By booking or paying for our services, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Return Policy, except where a separate written agreement between you and us provides different terms for a specific job.
Nature of Our Services
We provide on-site services such as tree trimming, tree pruning, shrub trimming, hedge shaping, and seasonal maintenance plans. These services are performed at your location by our personnel and result in labor, expertise, and (where agreed) disposal or chipping of branches and clippings being delivered. Once the work has been completed, the service cannot be "returned" in a physical sense: the trimming and pruning have been done, and the time and resources have been expended. Therefore, standard product return windows (e.g., 30-day money-back guarantees that apply to goods) do not apply. Instead, we focus on clear communication before and during the job, a mutually agreed scope of work, and fair handling of cancellations (before work begins or in progress) and any genuine concerns about the quality or completeness of our work after completion. This policy is designed to be fair to both you and us while reflecting the nature of service-based landscape work.
Quotes and Agreements
Before we begin any tree care or shrub trimming work, we provide a quote or estimate based on the scope of work we have discussed with you and, where applicable, observed at your property during a site visit. The quote may be given verbally (e.g., by phone) or in writing (including by email or in a formal estimate document). The quote will typically describe the work to be performed (e.g., number of trees to be pruned, areas to be trimmed, whether debris will be removed or chipped), the price, and any conditions (e.g., access requirements, weather dependency). By agreeing to the quote and scheduling the service, you accept the described scope and price. Any change to the scope (e.g., additional trees, extra hedge length, or additional cleanup) may result in an adjusted price; we will communicate any such adjustment to you before performing the extra work. We recommend that you keep a record of the agreed scope, price, and any special terms (e.g., deposit amount, cancellation terms) for your reference and for the avoidance of disputes later.
Cancellation by You
If you need to cancel or reschedule a scheduled service, please contact us as soon as possible by phone or through the contact details on our website. We ask for at least 24 to 48 hours' notice when feasible so that we can adjust our schedule and, where possible, offer the time slot to another customer seeking shrub trimming or tree care. If you cancel with sufficient notice and no work has been performed, we will typically release any deposit or prepayment in accordance with the terms agreed at booking (see "Payment and Deposits" below). If you cancel after we have already arrived at your property or have begun preparatory work (e.g., unloading equipment), we may charge a cancellation fee or retain a portion of any deposit to cover our time and costs, as agreed at the time of booking. If no specific cancellation terms were agreed in writing, we will handle cancellations on a case-by-case basis and aim to be fair to both parties, taking into account how much notice was given, whether we had already incurred costs (e.g., travel, labor), and whether we are able to rebook the slot. Repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows may result in our requiring full prepayment or declining future bookings.
Cancellation by Us
We may need to cancel or reschedule a visit for reasons beyond our control or for legitimate business reasons. Common reasons include: (a) weather conditions that make tree work unsafe or ineffective (e.g., high winds, heavy rain, lightning, or extreme heat); (b) equipment failure or unavailability; (c) illness or emergency affecting our crew; (d) discovery of conditions at the property that make the agreed work unsafe or impossible (e.g., unexpected obstacles, unstable trees); or (e) your failure to provide access or to meet agreed conditions (e.g., clearing the work area) after we have attempted to coordinate. In such cases we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and work with you to reschedule at a mutually convenient time. If we cancel and cannot reschedule within a reasonable time frame acceptable to you, we will refund any deposit or prepayment you have made for that specific visit, in full. We do not charge cancellation fees when the cancellation is initiated by us for the reasons described above. If we cancel for reasons within our control (e.g., overbooking), we will likewise refund any amount paid for the cancelled service and, at your option, offer to reschedule at a discounted rate or with another accommodation where appropriate.
Payment and Deposits
Payment terms—including whether a deposit is required, the amount and timing of the deposit, and when the balance is due—will be communicated when you book. For one-off jobs (e.g., a single tree trimming or hedge shaping visit), we may require full payment on completion or a small deposit to secure the date. For larger or multi-visit jobs (e.g., seasonal maintenance plans spanning several visits over the year), we may request a deposit or partial prepayment to secure the booking and cover our commitment of resources. Deposits are generally non-refundable once we have reserved time and resources for your job and you have confirmed the booking, unless we cancel the service (as described in "Cancellation by Us") or we otherwise agree in writing to a refund (e.g., in the case of a genuine dispute that we resolve in your favor). The balance is typically due upon completion of the work, or at intervals for ongoing plans, as agreed. Accepted payment methods (e.g., cash, check, electronic payment) will be confirmed at booking. If you have already paid in full and we cancel before performing the work, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled service within a reasonable period (typically within 7 to 14 business days) using the same method of payment where practicable. We do not charge interest on refunds; if your bank or card issuer applies fees or delays, those are outside our control.
Satisfaction and Quality Concerns
We strive to complete all shrub trimming and tree care work to a high standard and in line with the agreed scope. If you are not satisfied with the work performed, please contact us within a reasonable time—we suggest within 7 days of completion—and describe your concern in detail (e.g., which area was not trimmed as agreed, or what aspect of the work you believe falls short). We will review your concern and, where practicable, arrange to inspect the work (in person or via photos you provide) to assess whether the work met the agreed scope and our usual professional standards. If we agree that the work did not meet the agreed scope or our usual quality standards, we will work with you to correct it—for example, by re-trimming specific areas, addressing missed sections, or performing additional cleanup—at no extra charge, or we may offer a partial refund or credit toward future services, depending on the circumstances and what is fair. We do not offer full refunds for work that has been completed as agreed and to a professional standard; our obligation is to make good any genuine deficiency, not to refund simply because you have changed your mind about the appearance or extent of the work after it is done (e.g., you later decide you wanted a different shape or a more aggressive trim). Natural variation in plant response, weather after we leave, or differences in interpretation of "light trim" versus "heavy trim" may occur; we will address only those issues that fall clearly short of what was agreed. Any resolution (correction, partial refund, or credit) will be at our discretion and based on the specific facts of the situation. We ask that you allow us a reasonable opportunity to correct any deficiency before seeking chargebacks or third-party dispute resolution.
Limitations
We are not responsible for dissatisfaction arising from factors outside our control. Examples include: the natural growth, health, or condition of your plants after we have left (e.g., new growth that changes the appearance within weeks); weather damage (e.g., wind or storm damage to branches after we have completed our work); pest or plant health issues that were not part of the agreed scope; or your change of preference after the work is complete (e.g., you decide you wanted a different style of trim). We do not guarantee specific aesthetic outcomes (e.g., exact shape, height, or symmetry) unless we have explicitly agreed to them in writing as part of the scope. Tree and shrub response can vary with species, health, and season; we will use our professional judgment within the agreed scope. Our liability for any claim related to our services—including refunds, credits, or damages—is subject to the limitations set out in our Terms of Use and any separate written service agreement we may have with you. In no event shall our total liability for a single job exceed the amount you paid for that job.
Disputes
If a dispute arises regarding payment, quality of work, or a refund, we strongly encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it in good faith. We will respond promptly and, where appropriate, offer to inspect the work, provide a partial refund, or correct the work as described in "Satisfaction and Quality Concerns." In the case of chargebacks or other payment disputes initiated by you with your bank or card issuer, we will provide the relevant payment processor or bank with our records, this Return Policy, and any written agreement or correspondence to support our position. Chargebacks that are initiated without first contacting us or that are found to be invalid may result in our seeking recovery of the disputed amount and, in serious cases, refusal of future service.
